Lucy Chester has a BA in Early Years, a Level 3 in Early Years Care and Education and is a qualified Tutor in Further and Adult Education. Lucy has 28 years of experience working within the Early Years sector starting in 1991, including working as a registered childminder, nursery nurse in private nurseries and as a peripatetic learning support officer supporting children with complex needs in the maintained sector. In 2014 she joined the Early Years Team for the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames to jointly manage the Childminding Network Children Come First Quality Assurance Scheme. Lucy delivers the pre-registration training course for new childminders as well as training workshops and presentations to Early Years Practitioners. Lucy is a National Autistic Society licenced trainer delivering the Early Bird autism programme for parents. Lucy also leads in safeguarding and delivers the Level 2 safeguarding training as well as being part of the Local Safeguarding Children’s Board (LSCB) subcommittee.
