After many years of working in the early years and childcare sector it is time to say goodbye, it has been a pleasure to be a small part of developing the Childminder agency and I am sure Leap Ahead will continue to develop and be successful in the future. Thank you to all of our very hard working and dedicated childminders for having faith in the project and taking that “leap” with us.
We are pleased to announce that our recent Ofsted inspection has found the agency to be Effective in all areas:
Leadership and management are effective
The quality of the agency’s services is effective
The impact of the agency’s services on the quality of the education and care provided by its childminders is effective
Leap Ahead celebrated this years National Playday with a picnic playdate in the sunken garden at York House in Twickenham. The weather was glorious and lots of children came and joined in with the activities. The leap Ahead frisbees are always a firm favourite.
Playday is a celebration that’s been held every year, since its inception in 1986. The reason for such a special day was to raise awareness of play. What started out as a small scale campaign, soon spread across the UK. In 1991 it went national and now classes itself as the biggest celebration of its kind in the UK.
As we come to the end of the year it is always a good time to reflect on the past 12 months. We now have 44 childminders registered with the agency so far 8 have been graded as Outstanding and 20 as Good so we would like to say a big thank you for all your hard work and dedication to providing excellent services to the families and children.
We would like to wish all of our Leap Ahead childminders and their assistants a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
The agency has been graded as Effective in all areas at our first Ofsted inspection. The report highlights that; “Staff apply the agency’s registration processes rigorously and are uncompromising in the decisions they make. For example, staff let an applicant know if they do not meet the agency’s expectations for registration and make it clear what the applicant needs to do to meet the requirements of the early years foundation stage in order to be ready to start childminding” (more…)
